LCD TV | TPV Aims To Double LCD TV Shipments In 2012

TPV Technology aims to double its shipments of LCD TVs to 30 million units in 2012, optimizing the image of its brand products, including the Philips brand, according to the company.

TPV expects sales of its TVs to gain a boost from the second quarter of 2012 when it completes the integration of the TV joint venture it set up with Philips in China, the company noted.

For the China market, although Korea-based vendors currently enjoy a certain level of advantage due to their established supply chains, TPV may still be able to grab market share from Japan and Korea vendors thanks to its long-term deployment in China, indicated industry sources.

TPV shipped 60 million LCD monitors and 15 million LCD TVs in 2011, the sources figured.
